Studebaker Website

TECHNOLOGY STACK: HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript.

This is a e-commerce website for Studebaker International. A parts warehouse that sells antique car parts for Packard and Studebaker cars.

This project was in collaboration with another graphic designer. The goal of this project was to improve the website’s design for both PC and mobile as well as add new features such as a showcase for featured products and a newsletter.

The designs for this website were drafted in Adobe InDesign. All of the product and sales images were edited and finalized in Adobe Photoshop. The site’s “shopping” page was a collaboration with a third party hosting company who implemented back-end functionality with our design template.

My role in the project was implementing JavaScript to improve the sites navigation for the “shopping” page. The old design used “fly-out” menus to navigate the different product categories. I changed the design to “drop-down” menus which improved the sites navigation for our customers.

Our biggest challenge with this project was implementing a responsive design that was functional without sacrificing on new features we wanted to implement. Allowing the site to be to be fully functional on mobile was important.

Overall I enjoyed working on this project. After launch the site was received well by our customers and many commented on the new and improved look.

Studebaker Catalog

TECHNOLOGY STACK: Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe InDesign.

This is a Product Catalog for Studebaker International. A parts warehouse that sell antique car parts for Packard and Studebaker cars.

This Catalog documents close to ten-thousand parts of inventory. This project was also in collaboration with another graphic designer.

The goal of this project was to create a printed catalog that documented the warehouse inventory. It could allow customers to view and research the parts needed for their vehicles. The design was drafted using an older source catalog along with workbooks from one of the warehouse facilitators.

My role in this project was primarily copying information from the older source material into Adobe InDesign. I also used Adobe Photoshop to edit product photos.

Our biggest challenge with this project was organizing such a large collection of information. A project of this scope required intense organizational skills and careful planning.

Unfortunately this catalog was never published due to budget constraints and was eventually outsourced to a contractor shortly before I left the company. I only showcase it here since it was so close to completion.
